Biography
Aditya Soni is the founding partner of Soni Aditya & Associates. He works with listed and privately held companies, and with the families behind them, on the judgements that decide how their financial statements, audits, and structures stand up to scrutiny.
Before founding the firm in 2024, Aditya was in the Assurance practice of Ernst & Young (EY) in Pune. There he worked on the statutory audit of a Nifty-constituent pharmaceutical company with annual turnover of about INR 250 billion, and on audit and group reporting for a US subsidiary with turnover of about US$1.2 billion, covering acquisition accounting, purchase price allocation, and quarterly reviews. He also worked on a special-purpose audit for the sale of a stake in a renewable energy group with assets of about INR 46 billion, on IFRS group reporting for multinational clients, and on an assessment of internal controls over financial reporting for an IT services company.
Earlier, at a mid-sized advisory firm, he led statutory audit teams across private companies in a range of industries, and prepared financial statements and audit reports for management and board audiences.
Since founding the firm, his engagements have included an IFRS 9 expected credit loss model for a listed Saudi Arabian IT services company with US$855 million in gross trade receivables; the conversion of six renewable energy SPVs to Ind AS, with standalone and consolidated statements delivered together; the consolidation of a thirteen-entity group through a mid-year sale of a majority stake; a multi-year tax plan that structured INR 50 million of exemptions for an individual within a single year; and a finance transformation of a fuel retail network that removed about 99 percent of its recurring cash shortages.
